Possessiveness is a sign of insecurity and generally, stems from the lack of trust in a relationship. Controlling other is a common trait of a possessive partner. S/he started supervising for everything loke how to dress, how to behave in public or with friends etc. Whatever you do, they keep an eye on you. With whom you are talking, what are you talking about, who is texting you, how you are responding etc.

Sometimes people confuse possessiveness with caring but there is a slight difference between both the things. When someone's caring start annoying you it's a sign of him/her being overly possessive for you.
