The Enforcement Directorate has sought permission to record the statement of former Finance Minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram from Delhi court. Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram is accused in the INX Media case.
Indian arrested for raping American woman in Afghanistan
According to media reports, P Chidambaram is currently in Tihar Jail in the INX Media case. He filed a bail petition in the Supreme Court and demanded a hearing, on which the court issued a notice to Idi and sought an answer. After five days, in this case, the next hearing is on 26 November. Earlier, his bail plea has been denied to the High Court.

In the INX Media Money Laundering case, on August 21, the CBI arrested him in a very dramatic way. Earlier, he went to the Congress office and held press talks and dismissed the allegations made on him. P Chidambaram was accused of irregularities in the Foreign Promotion Board (FIPB) approval to INX Media Group to receive foreign funds of Rs 305 crore as the tenure of the Union Finance Minister. In this case, CBI started the investigation on 15 May 2017 by filing a case in court.
