New Delhi: A day after the 9th round of talks between the Union government and farmers ended without any conclusion, former finance minister and veteran Congress leader P Chidambaram attacked the Centre's Modi government. In a tweet on Saturday, former Union Minister P Chidambaram said the government should admit its mistake.

In a tweet, P Chidambaram tweeted from his official Twitter handle that the talks failed as expected, and the government should be blamed for this, as RTI responses do not want the government to repeal the laws even after the government's lies are exposed. P Chidambaram added, "The fact is that the government had not consulted anyone. In particular, the state governments were not consulted."

Veteran Congress leader Chidambaram further said, "The only way to get out of the impasse is to make the government accept its mistake and re-launch it in a new way." The next meeting between the farmers' organization and the government is now scheduled to be held on January 19.
