Former finance minister and Congress leader P. Chidambaram was impressed by retired Supreme Court Justice Justice Madan Lokur. He is in judicial custody in the INX-Media related Enforcement Directorate case. In fact, Lokur has said that the new Chief Justice of India SA Bobde has the responsibility to restore the credibility and stature of the top court immediately.

According to the media report, on behalf of Chidambaram, his family wrote in a tweet, "Justice Madan Lokur's frankness and clarity surprise."

Without mentioning any specific case, Lokur wrote, "No one can be put in jail on the basis of information given to the judges without effective reason or in a sealed envelope.". No one can be kept in jail either because of no time or because of misinformation, or because a person is safe in jail.

It is being speculated that Chidambaram, who is in judicial custody, is looking at these things of Justice Lokur by connecting himself. This is the reason why another tweet was made on behalf of the Congress leader referring to a newspaper. The tweet reads, "Rajya Sabha MP and Congress leader P. Chidambaram remains in judicial custody as government agencies and law officers show that they are specifically reserved for chasing opposition leaders."
