NEW DELHI: A 16th day hearing by a Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court on the Ayodhya Ram temple and Babri Masjid case is expected to be concluded on Friday. Senior advocate P.N. Mishra, appearing for the Ramjanmabhoomi Revival Committee, started his arguments and briefed the court on the methods of praying.

Advocate P.N. Mishra, quoting Hadis, said, "It says that the religious leader of Islam, Mohammed Prophet, has said that prayers cannot be read by ringing the bell because it is Devil's instrument. The angels do not come to the house or the place by ringing the bell," P.N. Mishra added, "Similarly, without ringing the bell, the temple cannot be worshipped."

P.N. Mishra told the court that Ibn-e-Battuta, on his visit to India, said he was stunned to see that the bell was ringing in all the mosques, ringing the bell and worshipping. "The Prophet Mohammed has said that two different clans of Hindus and Muslims cannot live together on the same land," P.N. Mishra quoted Hadi's Saheeh al-Bukhari as saying.
