People of PoK took to the streets in protest against China for building a dam on the Neelam-Jhelum river

Srinagar: Protests against Chinese companies are also being seen in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). In PoK too, people have now come on the streets against Chinese companies. In Muzaffarabad, people took out a rally and protested against the dam being built by Chinese companies. A huge torch rally was taken out in Muzaffarabad city of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Through this rally, the construction of the dam on the Neelum-Jhelum river was being opposed by the company of China. A video of this rally has also surfaced, in which the crowd is seen shouting slogans. The protesters took out a procession on the streets and shouted slogans. During this time a large number of people held torches in their hands and raised slogans. The protesters were shouting the slogan 'Neelam-Jhelum Bahane do, Hume Zinda Rahne do'.

Let us tell you that recently Pakistan and China have signed agreements for construction of Azad Pattan and Kohala Hydro Power Projects in PoK. As part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the 700.7 MW power lease Pattan hydel power project was signed on 6 July 2020.
