Ahead of the exhibition of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's  most-controversial magnum opus Padmaavat, violent protests and vandalism have been reported in certain cities of India. Even subsequent to the Supreme Court of India's strict orders to air the film without any conflict, these protests have carried on though state-imposed bans have been turned back.

For now, over 35 supporters of Karni Sena, protesting in opposition to Padmaavat have been in custody in Mumbai, claims a Mumbai Police official, as per reports of PTI.

In a most recent development, Gujarat theatre owners have said no to screen the film, as there is a big terror of vandalism and threats which engulfs the state. TV reports from CNN-News 18 claims that Karni Sena stands by their demands and wants certain scenes to be remove from the movie.

The Ahmedabad Police on Wednesday arrested 48 people from various locations under act of  raising riot  and to give a free rein to violence in the city in relation with the release of Bollywood most-controversial movie 'Padmaavat'.

According to news reports, a bench headed by the Chief Justice of India Deepak Misra will hear a plea on Monday 29 January 2018 demanding for deletion of scenes from the movie.
