Pahalgam bus accident: LG Manoj Sinha gave shoulder to martyrs' bodies

Srinagar: Tributes were paid to the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) personnel killed in Pahalgam in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in Srinagar on Wednesday. On this occasion, Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha was also present in honour of the soldiers. He shouldered the bodies of ITBP personnel. Let us know that, now the bodies of the soldiers from Srinagar will be transported to their homes.

It is noteworthy that at 11.10 am on Tuesday, a bus full of ITBP personnel fell into a 100 feet deep gorge in Pahalgam. 7 soldiers were martyred in the accident. There were 39 ITBP personnel and two Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel on the bus. The accident occurred due to the brake failure of the bus. All the jawans were returning from Amarnath Yatra after duty. The jawans were coming to Pahalgam from Chandanwari, the starting point of the Amarnath Yatra. In between, the driver lost control of the bus and the bus fell into the ditch.

ITBP DG SL Thaosen had informed that seven soldiers have been martyred in the accident. Eight seriously injured jawans have been taken to Srinagar for treatment. The rest are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Anantnag. According to Jammu and Kashmir DIG Ranbir Singh, the seriously injured soldiers have been brought to 92 Base Hospital in Srinagar. The condition of the rest of the jawans is fine.
