The former CBFC chairman, Pahlaj Nihalani, in one of his recent media interactions, talked about the failure of the film Rangeela Raja that starred Govinda as the male protagonist the movie had to compete with films like Fraud Saiyaan and Why Cheat India. However, it could not get sufficient theatres for its screening. Pahlaj Nihalani was the producer of the film and feels that the  film could not get enough theatres because Bollywood is run by a glamorous mafia.
 
Pahlaj asserted that he knows the people who want to finish him off as well as Govinda from the Bollywood film industry. He added that solo producers like him have no corporate backing and in the name of corporatization, they are being pushed out of the industry. Rangeela Raja was denied a release in Jharkhand and Bihar. Nihla added some critics were upset with him because he did not hold a press show with them.
Rangeela Raja is a comedy-drama genre film released on January 18, 2019. It was  helmed by Sikander Bharti and written by Pahlaj Nihalani. The film starred Govinda, Anupama Agnihotri and Mishika Chaurasia in the lead roles.
