Karachi: Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is facing the threat of defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections due to the new Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) brought by PM Narendra Modi in India. Qureshi said this at a function of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
He has said that after the victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had to face defeat in the assembly elections in three states. He has said that, "As far as the Delhi elections are concerned, where the results are going to be declared tomorrow, there seems to be a huge problem in the BJP and there is a danger of a big defeat."
In the context of not getting the support of the world for Pakistani propaganda against India, Qureshi has said that 'many countries feel that India is a big market, so they do not go against their economic interests. All do morality and truth, but all work according to the protection of their economic interests. Qureshi further said that because of India's discriminatory law on Kashmir issue, those countries are also reviewing relations with India which have deep ties with India.
