Islamabad: A 13-year-old Sikh boy has been unnaturally raped by three Muslims in Pakistan's Sindh province, police said on Saturday. After raising their voice, the local police also caught the two accused, but they escaped from the Civil Lines police station. According to the report, the accused had lured the boy to give him a bike. On this pretext, they took him to the telephone exchange office of the local PTCL (Pakistan Telecommunications Limited), where the minor Sikh boy was gang-raped.

Pakistan's Sindh is the province where incidents of forced conversion of Hindus and Sikhs and kidnapping and forced marriage of their daughters have become common. Areas like Thar, Umerkot, Mirpur Khas, Ghotki and Khairpur have a decent Hindu population, but they are forced to suffer hell in the neighbouring Islamic country. In July 2019, a resolution was also brought in the Sindh Assembly regarding the conversion of Hindu girls. However, the bill criminalising forced conversions has been rejected several times by the Sindh Assembly.

In the latest case, the accused have been identified as Mohsin Jamel and Siddir. One of the accused is unidentified. Together, the trio gang-raped the minor Sikh boy at gunpoint. An FIR has been registered in this case, but all three accused are out of the grip of the police. The accused also blackmailed the minor victim's father by making a video of the gang rape. At present, the victim Sikh boy is undergoing treatment in the hospital and the police are talking about investigating the case.

This is not the first such case in Pakistan. In November 2021, an 11-year-old Hindu boy was similarly sexually abused and then murdered in Sindh. When the said 5th student's family was busy in the Prakash Parv of Guru Nanak Dev, then he was kidnapped. His body was found some distance from the house. He was murdered by strangulation. Not only this, Hindu and Sikh girls are being raped in the name of providing relief material even during the floods in Pakistan.
