Islamabad: A Pakistan court has said that prosecuting someone in the absence of anyone is against the principles of natural justice as well as Islamic justice. The court has issued a detailed order on the petition of self-appointed former President Pervez Musharraf. In this petition, Musharraf challenged the conviction of a death sentence for a serious case of treason.

The Pakistani newspaper 'Dawn' reported that a detailed judgment written by Lahore High Court Justice Syed Mazhar Ali Akbar Naqvi found that it was formed in consultation with the then Chief Justice of Pakistan and the Chief Justice of the 5 High Courts. There is no provision in the constitution of a special court. The Bench said that it is undoubtedly proved that the special court was constituted as completely illegal/unfair and without authority.
