Islamabad: Taliban-ruled Afghanistan want to play cricket with Pakistan, baffled since the new Zealand cricket team's tour was cancelled due to security reasons. Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) Chairman Ajiullah Fazli has called for hosting a ODI cricket series with Pakistan. Meanwhile, some reports say that even though New Zealand did not play a single match, the Pakistan Cricket Board has received a food bill of about Rs 27 lakh.

In some media reports, the amount is said to be close to Rs 30 lakh. 500 policemen were reportedly deployed to guard the New Zealand cricket team that stayed at the hotel. Biryani used to come for them twice a day. It has cost about 27 lakhs in eight days. Frontier Constables personnel were also deployed to guard the New Zealand team. The bill for expenditure on them is yet to come. According to the report, the bill was withheld when it approached the finance department to pass it. Although the bill amount is stated to be different in individual reports, there is no statement from the authorities as to how much the bill actually has come for. But social media users are having a lot of fun on the issue.
