Islamabad: Pakistan's first-class cricketer Shahzad Azam Rana has died of cardiac arrest at the age of 36. He played 95 first-class, 58 List A and 29 T20 matches. He has taken 388 wickets in first-class cricket, 81 in List A and 27 wickets in T20 cricket.

Even after taking a total of 496 wickets in his career, this player never got a chance to play international cricket for Pakistan. He used to play for Islamabad in the Pakistan Super League. However, since 2018, Shahzad has neither played a first-class match nor a List A match. The last time he landed on the field was during a match with the Marylebone Cricket Club that toured Pakistan in 2020.
