Pakistan expresses heartfelt condolences on Atal Bihari Vajpayee's Demise

Pakistan has mourned on the demise of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee who was a great political leader. A spokesman for Pakistan's Foreign Office said that they have heard the tragic news of the demise of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He was a prominent politician who worked towards making changes in Indo-Pak relations. He was the key supporter of SAARC and regional cooperation for development.  

They have expressed 'heartfelt condolences' on behalf of the Government of Pakistan and to the people of Vajpayee's family and the Government of India and people. Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan also expressed his condolence on the demise of former Prime Minister Vajpayee and said that his efforts towards Indo-Pak peace will always be remembered. 

Khan said in a statement that Vajpayee was the chief political figure of the subcontinent and his death has created a big void. He said that he sympathizes with the people of India in this hour of sadness.

At the same time, journalist-turned politician Mushahid Hussain Syed said that the death of Atal Bihari Vajpayee has caused an irreparable loss. He said that Vajpayee was a symbol of peace. He played an important role in improving relations between the two countries. His role in introducing the historic Lahore-Delhi bus journey in 1999 is commendable. 

Journalist and Bilawal Bhutto Media Advisor Omar Qureshi said that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was also very popular in Pakistan. He tweeted, "Despite being from the BJP, the people of Pakistan loved Atal Bihari Vajpayee and it was because he came to Lahore in a bus to improve relations with Pakistan.
