Pak's defence budget rises even after pauperism, what's the plan

Islamabad: Pakistan's parliament on Thursday unanimously approved a defence budget of Rs 1,152 billion for the next fiscal year (2019-20). Federal Revenue Minister Hammad Azhar presented the General Budget on June 11, in which he announced that the budgetary allocation for the defence sector has been the same as last year. However, the Budget document shows that the government has increased it marginally by 4.5 per cent.

Sharif said during a discussion on the budget after a week of uproar in the National Assembly that countries like Afghanistan and Bangladesh are doing well in some areas like Afghanistan and Bangladesh. "Afghan currency is stronger than the Pakistani currency... Bangladesh's per capita arrivals are more than us," he said.
