New Delhi: Australia has made it to the semi-finals of the Under-19 World Cup. In the quarter-final match played on Friday, the Kangaroo team defeated Pakistan by 119 runs. In the semi-finals, Australia will face the winner of Saturday's match between India and Bangladesh. With the defeat of Pakistan, the cricket fans of India and Pakistan have suffered a big shock. Had Pakistan won the quarterfinals, it could have had a potential clash with India in the semi-finals.

But now, if Team India beats Bangladesh on Saturday, they will face Australia. Batting first after losing the toss in the quarterfinals, the Australia U-19 team scored 276 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Opener Tig Wylie scored 71 and Corey Miller scored 64. The two batsmen shared a 101-run stand for the second wicket, with the other opener Campbell Kellaway scoring 41 and captain Cooper Connolly on 33. For Pakistan, captain Qasim Akram took 3 wickets and Awais Ali took 2 wickets.

Chasing a target of 277 runs, Pakistan's entire team was bowled out for just 157 runs in 35.1 overs. Mehran Mumtaz top-scored with 29 runs. Abdul Fasih contributed 28 runs and Irfan Khan contributed 27 runs. For Australia, William Salzman sent the highest number of three players to the pavilion. Jess Sinfield and Tom Whitney got two wickets each.
