New Delhi: Amid calls for a boycott of Pakistan after Pulwama attacks, a Pakistan Member of Parliament (MP) Rajesh Kumar Vankwani was invited by a government body to attend Kumbh Mela 2019. Apart from Kumbh visit and during his visit, Vankwani met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and former Army chief and MoS for Foreign Affairs VK Singh. Vankwani said Pakistan was not involved in the Pulwama attacks and that Islamabad wants peace with India. 

It seems just like Navjot Singh Sidhu visit to Pakistan amid tensioned situation between India and Pakistan, here Vaswani visit to India seems like same and need to seem Pakistan politics review on it. The timing of his journey raises is questionable amid India's efforts to isolate Pakistan diplomatically on international for an alleging its involvement in Pulwama attack.

However, Vankwani, an MP from Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party -Pakistan Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was part of a foreign delegation which was invited by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) to visit Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj.  

Here in his visit Vankwani said “Thank Indian Government for warm welcome accorded to me, I met VK Singh ji, PM Modi and held discussions with Sushma ji. I assured that there is no Pakistani involvement in Pulwama Attack. We should move in a positive direction, we want peace,”. PM Modi will also visit Kumbh at Prayagraj on Sunday where he will participate in the Swachh Kumbh Swachh Aabhaar event, organized by Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation.
