Islamabad: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has postponed the sixth season of its T20 tournament, Pakistan Super League (PSL), indefinitely. The PCB has decided to postpone the league for the first time after the Corona virus cases came up even after the bio-secure bubble in the first phase of PSL-6 being played in Karachi. On Thursday, March 4, 3 more players playing in the league were found to be Corona positive, after which the total number of cases of infection increased to 7.

Of the people found to be Corona positive, 6 are players, while another is a member. After 3 new cases on Thursday, an emergency meeting of the organizing committee of PSL was called, in which it was decided to postpone the league. The sixth season of PSL began on 20 February 2021. There are a total of 34 matches to be played in this 6 teams PSL. Only 14 matches were played in PSL till Wednesday 3 March. Meanwhile, even after the bio-secure bubble, cases of corona infection started coming in the players. The first case came on 1 March, which increased to 7 by 4 March.

After 3 new cases on Thursday, the organizing committee of PSL held an emergency meeting with all 6 franchises. It was decided in this meeting that the health of the players, support staff and all the people related to the tournament is prominent and due to this the tournament has been postponed indefinitely. The organizers have decided that RT-PCR test will be done again for all the people.
