Pakistan violates ceasefire on border, three including a child injured

Srinagar: Pakistan again targeted Indian posts on Monday afternoon in violation of ceasefire. Pakistan resorted to unprovoked firing in Shahpur sector adjoining LoC in Poonch district of In Jammu and Kashmir.  The firing took place at around 12.45 pm on the Pakistan side. Pakistani troops exchange mortars into Indian border with small arms. The troops on the Indian border gave a befitting reply to Pakistan.

It may be mentioned that Pakistan had violated the ceasefire in Krishna Valley, Mankot and Mendhar sectors of Poonch district on Sunday. Last night, a 10-day-old boy was killed in a firing by Pakistan. Two others who were injured in the attack are undergoing treatment in hospital. Pakistan targeted Indian posts and residential areas in Poonch district by firing unprovoked firing in Krishna Valley, Mendhar and Mankot sectors. Three people, including 1 child, were injured in the shooting.

Indian and Pakistani forces opened fire on the border in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir On Sunday. This happened after unprovoked firing by Pakistani soldiers.

Defence Ministry spokesman Lt Col Devendra Anand said, "Pakistan violated the ceasefire by firing in Shahpur and Saujian sectors of Poonch on the Line of Control (LoC) using small arms and mortars at around 5 p.m."
