Srinagar:  Pakistan once again violated the ceasefire and targeted Indian posts in Jammu and Kashmir. The ceasefire was violated by Pakistan at around 10.30 pm in Balakot sector of Poonch district. Indian security forces also opened fire, replying to the Pakistani firing. Pakistan kept firing intermittently throughout the night.

It is noteworthy that India had told on Sunday that this year Pakistan violated the ceasefire unprovoked 2,050 times. 21 Indians have been killed in this. Meanwhile, reports have come out that Pakistan is deploying additional forces along the border with India. In a statement, the Foreign Ministry spokesman said that India has several times called upon Pakistan to abide by the 2003 ceasefire agreement and maintain peace along the international border and the Line of Control.

He has said that Indian forces responded to the maximum restraint and attempted terrorist infiltration across the border and unprovoked ceasefire violations. He also said that India has expressed its concern over ceasefire violations by Pakistani forces without any reason. This includes supporting the infiltration of terrorists from across the border and targeting Indian citizens and border posts by them. This statement came after the Pakistani army took the bodies of two of its Punjabi soldiers.
