New Delhi: Pakistani troops have rained the 814 km-long Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir and 264 km of international border on an average of 15 times per day in 2020. Even then, the Indian Army is covering the compulsion to enforce the cease-fire on the borders. According to statistics, the ceasefire has been violated 5246 times by Pak Army in the year 2020.

On November 26, 2003, Jammu and Kashmir reached an agreement to enforce a ceasefire on the global border and LoC adjoining Pakistan, but it is now on the verge of extinction. The army says that every year, the Pak Army is forcing the Indian side to respond in the same language by increasing the incidents of ceasefire violations. Talking to the press on Army Day, Lt Gen Y K Joshi, chief of the Army's Northern Command, said that Pak Army had violated the ceasefire 3824 times in the year 2019 also.

Joshi further said that the ceasefire violation last year was the highest in 17 years. According to him, in the year 2019 also, on average, the Pak Army fired 10 shells and bullets every day, which was given a befitting reply, causing military and civilian damage on both sides.
