Chandigarh: The Pakistani conspiracy to destroy Panjab has been foiled on Wednesday. Punjab Police and BSF have seized a huge cache of weapons in the Khemkaran area of Tarantaran district near the international border. This was reported by an officer on Wednesday. In a joint operation, The Counter Intelligence Wing of Punjab Police and Border Security Force (BSF) seized 22 pistols, 44 magazines, 100 cartridges and 1 kg of heroin.

Pakistan is engaged in sending consignments of arms and heroin to Punjab through drones. Earlier, tiffin bombs have also been dropped from drones. However, in time, Punjab police seized these consignments of weapons. Former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh has also expressed concern over Pakistan's activities. In 2019, 232.561 kg of heroin was seized in Punjab. In 2020, the number reached 506.241 kg. In 2021, 241.231 kg of heroin has been seized till May 31.

In September 2019, police seized 5 rifles, 150 cartridges and seven pistols from the Khemkaran sector. The consignment of weapons was dropped from the drone. In December 2020, BSF fired 70 rounds at Kot Razada. However, the drone dropped the weapon and returned. In the Gurdaspur district also, 11 grenade consignments were dropped by Pakistani drones. However, the consignment was seized. The case is dated 22nd December 2020. In the Gurdaspur sector, BSF opened fire on Pakistani drones on February 22 this year.
