Chennai: Tamil Nadu CM K.K. Palaniswami announced on Wednesday that the heirs of the people of Tamil Nadu who lost their lives in the landslide in Kerala will be provided assistance of Rs 3 lakh. Palaniswami has said that Rs 3 lakh will be provided to the heirs of every person who lives in Tamil Nadu.

He has said that seriously injured will be given Rs 1 lakh. He has said that the assistance will be provided from the CM Relief Fund. Palaniswamy has said that the tea plantation workers killed in Munnar in Idukki district of Kerala were native to Tamil Nadu and had been living and working in the neighboring state for a long time. He has said that on his instruction a team of personnel from Theni District have joined the rescue efforts in Kerala.

He further said that twelve workers have been saved and they have been admitted to a hospital for treatment. He mourned the death of the people and prayed for speedy recovery of the injured. In the recent landslide, the figure of those who lost their lives was reduced to 61 on Tuesday after receiving the body.
