It is a small town located in Palitana, India in the Bhavnagar district of Gujarat. It is considered to be the purest and best to roam around for those who follow Jainism. What is the reason for creating a vegetarian city - in fact, in the year 2014, the government had banned the killing of animals here and not a single animal has been killed here since then. The other reason for making a vegetarian- it is said that the protector of this city, Adinath once moved to the hills here and since then this place has been important for the followers. This is because Palitana is home to many temples, and is also a major pilgrimage site for Jains.

In fact, it is also the most sacred pilgrimage site for the Jain community and is also considered to be the largest temple complex in the world. Palitana, about 50 km southwest of Bhavnagar, is one such hilly place in the whole world where more than 900 temples exist.
