Shimla: With the growing cases of Covid, there was no settlement of duty in other districts in the election of Panchayati Raj Institutions in Himachal. Due to Covid-19, Himachal Election Commission is not planning to spend much on the upcoming panchayat elections. About 56 thousand employees are required for the election. Therefore, the Commission will impose the duty of employees from inside the block so that crores of rupees of TA-DA can be saved.

During the Election Commission assembly elections, the duty of employees of the outer districts is being imposed. In this way, crores of rupees are spent on TA-DA for those performing election duty. The number of polling stations in the elections of Panchayati Raj Institutions is very high. It becomes very expensive to charge the duty of employees of the outer districts.

It has been learned that the process of voter list of 2,758 panchayats in the state has been completed. The objections and claims are to be heard within 7 days. 7 days time will be given to appeal. These appeals are to be disposed of within 5 days to the Deputy Commissioners of the respective districts. Himachal Election Commission official Sanjeev Mahajan says that during the Covid period, the duty of employees from other districts will not be imposed. This will save unnecessary expenses and many more. It is said that the process of voter list of 2,758 panchayats in the state has been completed.
