Today we are going to share with you Punjab's special recipe 'Sarso Da Saag'

Necessary ingredients :

Mustard leaves - Mustard leaves - 500 grams,
Spinach - 150 grams,
Bathua 100 grams,
Tomato - 250 grams,
Onion_ 01 (finely chopped),
Garlic_ 05 buds (finely chopped),
Green chilli 02 pieces,
Ginger01 big piece,
Mustard oil 02 tablespoons,
Butter  02 tablespoons,
Asafoetida -02 pinch,
Cumin 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Corn flour 1/4 cup,
Red chilli powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt as per taste.

Recipe :

To make mustard greens, first clean and wash the leaves of mustard, spinach and bathua. After this, place them in a sieve, so that the water becomes smooth after that cut them into thick pieces and put in the cooker with a cup of water and boil on medium heat. After this, remove the cooker and wait till the whistle comes out. Now cut the tomatoes and ginger into small pieces and then grind them finely by putting them in a grinder along with green chillies. After that pour oil in the pan and heat it. When the oil is hot, add maize flour and fry it till it becomes light brown. After removing the flour in a bowl, pour the remaining oil in the pan and heat it, add asafoetida and cumin seeds and fry it for ten seconds. After that add onion and garlic and fry until light pink.

After that add turmeric powder, tomato paste and red chilli and fry the spices till it starts leaving the oil. While roasting the spices, take out the mustard leaves from the cooker. After cooling them, put them in the grinder and grind them coarsely. Now add mustard leaves in the roasted spices. Also add water, maize flour and salt as needed and stir well. After this, cook it on medium heat and after cooking for five-six minutes after boiling, turn off the gas. Take, the method of making mustard greens is complete. Now your delicious mustard greens Sarson Ka Sag is ready. Add butter or indigenous ghee to it and serve it hot with maize bread or paratha.
