After the sucesss of the film Hindi Medium the makers have started working on the sequel of the film. Titled Angrezi Medium, the film brings back Irrfan Khan in the lead and also stars Radhika Madan and Kareena Kapoor Khan in significant roles. In Angrezi Medium, Khan plays the role of a sweet shop owner, unlike his character in Hindi Medium, who was a sari shop owner.The cast also includes Pankaj Tripathi., who recently starred in Vivek Agnihotri's The Tashkent Files, has come on board for the film.

Pankaj will essay the role of Tony, a wheeler-dealer, who runs a travel agency. As the plot unfolds, he will play a significant role in the storyline and aid Khan's character and his onscreen daughter, Radhika, to reach the UK.  Revealing that the decision of being part of the film is more of an emotional one, Tripathi said, “It is my love and respect for Irrfan and my friendship with Dinoo (Dinesh Vijan) that made me say yes.”

Angrezi Medium marks Irrfan's return to the celluloid after his cancer treatment in the US, which makes this big screen outing all the more special. The actor was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour last year and ever since he shared the news with the world of social media, his fans, followers and admirers prayed for his healing and recovery.
