A recent controversy has erupted over a comment posted on the official social media handle of the Noida/Gautam Budh Nagar District Magistrate. The post, targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, has drawn significant backlash and led to calls for action.

The incident began on Sunday evening when Supriya Shrinate, Congress spokesperson, shared a video clip on her social media account. In the video, Shrinate remarked, “History cannot be changed. History is made. Narendra Modi knows how history will remember him and that is why he is worried.”

Shortly after, a comment appeared on the District Magistrate's official social media handle, directed at Rahul Gandhi, stating, “Are tum apni aur apne pappu ke baare m sochu (you think about yourself and pappu).” The comment was perceived as inappropriate and offensive by many.

Shrinate quickly highlighted the comment, criticizing the District Magistrate's language and suggesting that the administrative staff may be biased. She accused them of fueling political hatred.

In response, District Magistrate Manish Verma issued a clarification, stating that his account had been hacked by anti-social elements who posted the offending comment. An FIR has been filed, and the cyber cell is investigating the incident. The FIR was later shared on the official handle as proof of the action taken.

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh condemned the comment as unacceptable and indicative of increasing politicization within India’s bureaucracy. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi also criticized the incident, expressing gratitude to Shrinate for highlighting the issue.
