Lucknow: Pointing out Dr. BR Ambedkar's efforts for the upliftment of Dalits and minorities, BSP supremo Mayawati,  slammed the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh on Monday, stating that "no day goes by when atrocities are not committed against individuals from the weaker sections of the state."

Mayawati said during a news conference on the anniversary of Ambedkar's death, "There isn't a day that goes by when crimes aren't committed against the state's poorer citizens. There aren't many reports in the media about such instances. The state government is adept at handling the media."

The BSP leader further said that due to the apathy of casteist regimes at the federal and state levels, individuals from the backward classes are unable to benefit from the benefits outlined in the Constitution he crafted.

"Dr. BR Ambedkar fought for the rights of Dalits, tribals, backward castes, minorities, and those who were marginalised. Due to the apathy of casteist regimes at the federal and state levels, they are currently unable to benefit from the provisions of the Constitution created by him "she said.
