Story- It is told in the Puranas about Lord Parashuram that he is Chiranjeevi. From the Satyuga, the story of his presence is found in Treta and Dwapar Yuga. It is said that in Tretayug, during the marriage of Lord Rama, Parashurama came from Mahendra mountain and wanted to punish Lord Rama for breaking Shiva's bow. But when he got to know the real nature of Lord Rama, he bowed down to Rama. Lord Rama presented his Sudarshan Chakra to Parashuramji and requested him that he would need it when he would be incarnated in Dwapar Yuga. When Shri Krishna took incarnation in Dwapara, then Parashurama handed over the Sudarshan Chakra to Lord Krishna to protect the religion.

Such was the state of his anger that he once even challenged Lord Ganesha for war when Ganesha stopped him from going to Kailas. There was a fierce war between Ganeshji and Parashuramji. In anger, Parshuramji cut off one of Ganesha's teeth with the help of Lord Shiva. Since then, Lord Ganeshji started to be called Ekadant.
