Night curfew extended till May 6 amid rising corona cases in UP

In view of the increasing cases of covid, it has decided to extend the curfew imposed in Uttar Pradesh by two days. According to the information received, curfew is now going to be in force in the state till 7 am on May 6. Meanwhile, all markets will remain closed and traffic will be restricted. This information was given by Uttar Pradesh Additional Chief Secretary Information Navneet Sehgal. He said that at present this arrangement has been made for this week. Sehgal said the state government has taken the decision as part of its efforts to break the chain of covid infection in the state. Earlier, the partially imposed curfew period was coming to an end on Tuesday morning. But after the new order, curfew will now continue on Tuesday and Wednesday.

In Uttar Pradesh, movement of public and private vehicles is going to be completely restricted amid covid curfew. During this period, shops of essential commodities like fruits, vegetables, dairy and rations will be opened but for a limited period, petrol pumps and gas supply and drug shops are going to be open all the time.

It has been learnt that 290 patients died and 30,983 new patients were found in UP Uttar Pradesh on Sunday due to covid infection. Additional Chief Secretary Health Amit Mohan Prasad said that 290 infected people have lost their lives in the last 24 hours in the state and a total of 13,162 infected have lost their lives so far. He said that with 30,983 new patients found in the State, the total number of cases has gone up to 13,13,361 so far. According to Prasad, the number of patients who are now free from infection after treatment has increased as compared to the new infected in the state, with 36,650 infected infections in the last 24 hours as compared to 30,983 infected in the state.
