Patna: There are indications of two splits in the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) and five of its six Lok Sabha MPs are understood to have joined hands to remove Chirag Paswan from the post of party leader in the lower house of Parliament and elect his uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras to the post. Sources said, the group of MPs has conveyed its decision to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.

Sources said, "LJP MPs met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Sunday and handed him a letter regarding new developments in the party. He urged him to consider Pashupati Kumar Paras as the new LJP leader in the Lok Sabha. On the other hand, LJP Lok Sabha MP from Hajipur in Bihar Pashupati Kumar Paras said, "I feel lonely. The command of the party went to whose hand. 99% of the party's workers, MPs, MLAs and supporters all wanted us to be part of the NDA alliance in 2014 and remain in NDA this time assembly elections as well".

He further said that 'the LJP was disintegrating, some anti-social elements broke our party and broke the alliance by ignoring the sentiments of 99% of the workers. He said that there are 6 MPs in our party. The MPs wanted the party to cease to exist, so the party should be saved. I have not broken the party, but saved it. There is no complaint with Chirag Paswan. No objection, they should be in the party'.
