New Delhi: According to official figures of Patanjali Ayurveda, the company has sold 25 lakh coronil kits till October 18. According to Baba Ramdev's Patanjali Ayurveda, coronil pills worth Rs. 250 crores have been sold in India and abroad in the last four months. Patanjali Ayurveda, which claimed to be effective in fighting corona, was launched in the market on June 23.
These sales have been done online, offline, direct marketing, general marketing and through Patanjali's dispensaries and medical centres spread across the country. However, it came into the controversy only after the launch of Coronil. First, on June 23, there was a ruckus on the fact that coronil is a panacea treatment for coronavirus infection. The very next day, the AYUSH department of Uttarakhand issued a notice to Patanjali and summoned the reply in 7 days. Patanjali then changed claim that instead of calling it a panacea treatment of corona, it would be called as the immunity booster. Coronil kits were sold well after coming to the market.
At the time of the launch of this medicine, Baba Ramdev said that only indigenous ingredients have been used in making this medicine, in which Moulathi, Giloy, Ashwagandha, Tulsi, Sanshari have been used in it. He told that this drug has been made using Tinospora, which is found in Giloe, and anti-bacterial elements present in Ashwagandha and the use of inhaler juice.
