New Delhi: Kashmir's youth leader Shehla Rashid has received interim relief from Delhi's Patiala House court. In fact, Shehla was booked under sedition after disputed remarks on the Indian Army. After this, Shehla Rashid was under arrest. Now the court has given Shehla interim protection from arrest.
A case was filed against Shehla Rashid for her statement regarding alleged human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir. The FIR was registered on 3 September. The sedition case was filed under a criminal complaint on the complaint of Supreme Court lawyer Alok Srivastava seeking Shehla's arrest. Shehla is pursuing PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
Sections 124-A (sedition), 153-A (promoting enmity) of the Indian Penal Code, for tweeting false information about alleged military action in the Kashmir Valley against Shehla Rashid (with intent to breach peace) Libel) and 505 (giving statement for causing nuisance). However, currently Shehla has been released from the court.
