When asked about Tejaswi Yadav's absence in the Legislature session, his mother and leader of the Bihar Legislative Council, opposition leader Rabri Devi, was agitated. Replying to a media query, he said Tejaswi is in his 'home'. Soon after, he took over. Then he said Tejasvi is not sitting, he is doing his job. He will soon come to India. Rabri Devi blamed the government for the negligence of children due to encephalitis in Bihar. He said, no arrangement has been made so far. Children have not even got food grains. Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey should resign for the incident. If he does not resign, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar should sack him.

Rabri Devi also supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement on the large-scale deaths of children with encephalitis, in which she termed it shameful. Rabri said, the Prime Minister should also take the dismissal of Mangal Pandey first. It may be noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his address to the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday, had said that the deaths in Bihar due to bright fever or AES are unfortunate.
