Bihar:  An official in Bihar's Begusarai district claimed on Monday that a woman died and that her husband is fighting for his life after they were set afire by miscreants over a property dispute.

Sanjay Yadav, the victim, and Ramesh Yadav are involved in a property dispute in the district's village of Barihari, which is under the jurisdiction of Chakia police station.

"On Sunday, Ramesh Yadav and about a half-dozen associates arrived and drenched us in gasoline while we were inside our grocery store. It caught fire right away since there was no power and a candle was burning inside. The shop as a whole was quickly consumed by fire. Despite my best efforts, I was unable to save my wife from her serious burn injuries before she passed out "Sanjay Yadav said.

The woman died from her injuries at the basic healthcare facility in Chakia after the locals rushed them there.

Rajesh Yadav, Sanjay's brother, said: "The accused utilised sharp-edged weapons to attack my brother Sanjay Yadav and his wife five years ago. Also, a murder attempt FIR was filed at the Chakia police station. They were coerced into making concessions by the accused. Sanjay ultimately reached a resolution in the case. With Ramesh Yadav, Sanjay is involved in a 0.30 Katha land dispute. The latter was constantly threatening him since he wanted to take the land" he added.
