Patnaik launches smart health cards distribution Bhadra, Balasore districts

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik started the distribution of Smart Health Cards in the Balasore and Bhadrak districts on Friday as part of the 'Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana.' These Smart Health Cards are expected to help around 20 lakh individuals in Balasore and 11 lakh people in Bhadrak. the Chief Minister said that the distribution of Smart Health Cards has reduced the fears of our underprivileged people.

Along with the distribution of Smart Health Cards, the Chief Minister also dedicated development projects in the Balasore district totaling Rs 1,552.96 crore. These projects include water supply, bridge and road construction, school infrastructure, and urban development, among others.

In the Bhadrak district, Patnaik dedicated different development projects worth Rs 290.75 crore. "It will help 3.5 crore people from 96 lakh families in the state, relieving them of the expense of medical treatment," said the Chief Minister. "Every life is precious to us, whether it belongs to a farmer, a daily wage labourer, or a rickshaw puller - let everyone live with dignity," he said. "Providing clean drinking water to all is one of our key priorities, and mega piped water schemes are being built for this purpose," he said while launching development projects.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Odisha is the only state in the country where the state government covered all costs, from testing to treatment for all patients," the Chief Minister remarked.
