When Pawandeep Rajan, the winner of Indian Idol 12, raised the trophy in the singing reality programme, he was showered with presents and inspired millions of people watching him on television. Pawandeep got costly presents from his friends and fellow participants on the programme, in addition to the prize money of Rs 25 lakh and a vehicle. Arunita Kanijlal, who came in second, purchased Pawandeep a luxurious Audi Q7, which starts at Rs 69.27 lakh and goes up to Rs 81.18 lakh, according to media reports

Apart from Arunita, the other competitors are said to have given Pawandeep highly unique and costly presents. One of the finalists, Sayli Kamble, presented Pawandeep with a gold necklace worth Rs 72,000, while the fourth runner-up, Mohd Danish, presented his winning companion with a guitar worth Rs 14 lakh. Pawandeep received a traditional Rajasthani costume from Sawai Bhatt, whose elimination enraged fans, and platinum jewellery worth Rs 4 lakh from Anjali Gaikwad. Pawandeep received a Manish Malhotra-designed outfit costing Rs 1.3 lakh from Shanmukhapriya, and a pair of Nike sneakers worth Rs 35,000 from his close buddy Ashish Kulkarni.

Pawandeep received a box of costly chocolates from Nihal Tauro, who was also a finalist, and perfume worth Rs 23,000 from Anushka Banerjee. All of the participants seemed to like Pawandeep from the start, and their relationship is now etched in Indian Idol history.
