Paytm and other Indian startups are coming together to take on global tech giants Google, Reuters. His strategy will include registering cases and complaints with the court and the government. Google is accused of inappropriate behavior that takes the market to its side. Entrepreneurs are meeting video conferences in the hope of having bitter quarrels.
"This is definitely a bitter battle," said Dinesh Agarwal, CEO of e-commerce firm Indiamart. "Google will lose this fight. It is only a matter of time. Towards that end, there has been a demand to set up a new-start-up association whose primary task would be to protest against the government and courts against the U.S. company. The idea of a rival app store was also floating but it was concluded that it would not take effect immediately.
It seems the controversy had recently sparked a battle when Google removed the Paytm app from its Play Store, accusing the app of policy violations. Paytm was soon reinstated but it strongly reprimanded Google from Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma. In a video call, he has said, "If we don't do anything together, history won't be kind to us." We have to control our digital destiny. "
That was Google's decision to impose a 30% commission on payments made within apps on the Android Store. However, Google saw nothing wrong with the decision saying that 97% of apps comply with it. The tech giant is already facing a nod-hate case and a competition investigation, but Google says it has to comply with all laws.
