On 20 February 2020, Pakistan Cricket Board suspended Umar Akmal under Article 4.7.1 of the PCB Anti Corruption Code with immediate effect. After this suspension, Umar will no longer be able to participate in any cricket-related activity, pending an investigation by the Anti-Corruption Unit of the PCB.
