Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supremo and former Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti have been detained at her Srinagar residence amid the Bharat Bandh, prohibiting Mehbooba Mufti's exit from her home. The PDP issued a statement accusing the police of illegally detaining Mehbooba Mufti at her residence in Srinagar.
The PDP alleged that Mehbooba Mufti was not allowed out of her house in Srinagar on Tuesday and she was unlawfully detained by the police along with civil authorities. According to information given by the PDP, Mehbooba Mufti was going to visit the Begum area to meet people who were being illegally evacuated from their land and house.
The PDP said that the police and civil officials present on the spot have referred to the government order "for this illegal step".
