Pema Khandu and Arunachal Governor discuss infrastructure projects in border areas

Yesterday Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr BD Mishra and Chief Minister Pema Khandu discussed current infrastructure projects in the state's border areas with top officials at Raj Bhavan.

The Governor stated that the Central Government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is placing a strong premium on developing border areas, and those border communities must be economically thriving, with decent roads, schools, medical facilities, and dependable communication networks.

Mishra stressed the need of timely project implementation and quality assurance in border areas. He stated that roads, bridges, tunnels, and tracks built-in border areas must be of the best quality in order to support local economic growth and border security. The Governor encouraged the security agencies to investigate the most advanced technological and scientific road-building approaches. He also emphasised the need of working together with the district authorities while tackling road development. Lt Gen Ravin Khosla, Inspector General of the Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) of the North-East Frontier Headquarters, Shyam Mehrotra, senior DIGs of the ITBP SP Singh and Deepak Sandhuja, and state Planning and Investment Commissioner Prashant Lokhande were among those present.
