New Delhi: The air quality in Delhi and surrounding areas, which deteriorated after Diwali, is showing a slight improvement due to post-rain winds on Thursday, but it still remains in the 'bad' category. For this reason breathing has also become very difficult. Narela in Delhi recorded AQI 431 on Saturday morning, the highest in Delhi-NCR. While delhi as well as Ghaziabad, Noida, Greater Noida and Faridabad have been reduced by poisonous air, the situation remains alarming.  While it has been revealed that people in Delhi-NCR will be forced to breathe toxic air this weekend as the winds are going to be slow on Saturday and Sunday which may lead to increased pollution.

In fact, AQI remains below 300 in most parts of Delhi on Saturday morning, which is lower than friday. However, the AQI at Knowledge Park in Greater Noida is 553 today. While Faridabad, which has been reeling under pollution for the past few days, AQI is below 300. According to the Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research System (SAFAR), the air quality in Delhi remains in poor category. The winds are going to be weak for the next two days. Due to which the pollution level is going to increase rapidly. While the winds will start to pick up from December 5, the pollution levels will remain very poor. According to reports, pollution improved on December 3 and it reached a very bad situation from severe. On the other hand, the pollution situation is going to remain very bad on December 4 and 5. In addition, the winds will be somewhat strong on Sunday and rain is expected on December 6. This is estimated to reduce pollution. However it will remain in the bad category.

While schools and colleges in Delhi have once again been closed due to rising pollution, the environment department has also announced closure of all schools in Sonepat, Gurugram, Faridabad and Jhajjar in Haryana adjoining Delhi till further orders. On the other hand, the Supreme Court is constantly hearing pollution. Meanwhile, the court has lashed out at the Delhi government along with the Centre.
