Washington: The United Nations (UN) has released a list of 12 countries that violate religious freedom. Russia, Pakistan, Iran and China are among the most serious violators on this list. Giving information about the matter, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that the United States on Friday (December 2) designated China, Iran and Russia as countries of special concern under the Religious Freedom Act for serious violations. Russia's dreaded private army Wagner Group has also been banned.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has informed that countries of special concern under the Religious Freedom Act include China, Iran, and Russia as well as North Korea and Myanmar. Whereas, Algeria, Central African Republic, Comoros and Vietnam have been placed on the monitoring list. Countries of particular concern include Cuba, Eritrea, Nicaragua, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.
Let us tell you that, while taking another action on Russia, America has banned Russia's dreaded private army Wagner Group. Blinken said that this group is guilty of wildly torturing ordinary people in Ukraine. The Wagner Group is also active in the Central African Republic and Syria. Through this army, Russia is carrying out its nefarious plans in these countries as well.
Not only this, but Blinken has also said in his statement that the action taken by the government to stop the people mobilizing against the hijab in Iran is condemnable. He has said that Washington has put pressure on Iran regarding the brutal crackdown on the protesters. It is the most aggressive demonstration in the Islamic Republic of Iran since the 1979 revolution. Let us tell you that more than 300 people have died in violent demonstrations in Iran so far. Whereas, more than 14 thousand people have been arrested.
