The incident is from Lal Darwaza area of ​​Kotwali police station area. On June 16, when a bullet was fired from the house of BJP leader Arun Yadav, popularly known as Bada Babu, people were in awe. When people reached his house after hearing the sound of bullets, the bedroom was locked from inside. Thereafter, people peeping through the window saw the bodies of both the husband and wife lying. Arun Yadav was the district vice-president in the OBC Morcha of the BJP. At the same time, his wife Preeti Kumari was a strong contender for the Mayor's post in the Munger Municipal Corporation elections. For the past several months, Arun along with his wife was meeting the people of the Municipal Corporation area and was informing the people about his wife to contest for the mayor's election.

BJP leader's father Phuleshwar Yadav said, Arun Yadav was married to Preeti Kumari of Begusarai district about 4 years ago in Begusarai district. Both of them had no children. For this, he was getting his wife's treatment done from Patna. A week before the incident, the husband and wife had gone to Patna for treatment. After coming from there, Arun Yadav wanted to start meeting people again. But due to exhaustion, Preeti expressed her inability to go. Preeti said, "Let's stay today. Will go tomorrow. Then on the third day, Arun committed suicide by killing his wife. The investigation of the same case is still going on.
