In Dehradun, due to the rain and the weather have become pleasant in almost all the areas of the state. The rain lashed Dehradun early Wednesday morning with strong wind and continued till 8 am. It has brought some respite from the scorching heat. Rains lashed Yamunhati, Pauri, Srinagar, and Haridwar including Rudraprayag, Kedarnath, Badrinath, Hemkund Sahib, New Tehri, Karanprayag, Gauchar, Adiaburi, Narayanbagar, Tharali, Dewal, Yamunotri area, which made the weather pleasant.

According to the information, peoples have breathed a sigh of relief after the rains. Though the sunshine came out in the plains, the mountainous terrain remained cloudy. Pilgrims who visited Badrinath and Hemkund, including local people, breathed a sigh of relief. The temperature in Karanprayag was between 38 and 40 degrees celcial for the past week. After the rain, the temperature has come down to 28 degrees Celsius at 7 in the morning.

As per information received, the Badrinath highway is smooth as per disaster management officer NAND Kishore Joshi. The Rishikesh-Gangotri National Highway has been closed by night in the Narendra Nagar bypass. The route is likely to take a long time to open due to a lot of debris falling from the hill.
