TS Tirumurthy, the country's permanent representative to the United Nations, said that India will send more relief and humanitarian material to Lebanon as an aid to deal with the situation after the Beirut blasts.
He further said that on behalf of the Government and the people of India, I would like to express my deepest condolences to the general public and the Government of Lebanon on this terrible human tragedy. We are shocked at the loss and widespread destruction of human life. He appreciated the spirit of local people and officers for their resilience and dedication in the face of the tragedy of the blast.
He said that after paying his visit to Beirut last year, it is difficult to imagine that this vibrant district has been affected by the explosion. I commend the security of the people struggling with this tragedy and the dedication of the activists.
