New Delhi: Congress MP Shashi Tharoor slammed the Central government on Wednesday for suspending 12 Opposition MPs, saying the administration must recognise that different views in the country deserve to be heard. "Other voices in our country ought to be heard, and the Centre must recognise this. The purpose of parliament is to hold debates and discussions. Only then can you truly run a democratic Parliament if you enable people to express their opinions "Tharoor remarked.

On the last day of the Monsoon Session, 12 MPs from opposing parties were suspended from Parliament's winter session for allegedly causing a ruckus.
