States are increasing VAT on petrol and diesel one after the other to increase their revenue between the Corona crisis and lockdown. Now the Government of Jharkhand has also increased VAT on both these products. VAT on both petrol and diesel has been increased by Rs 2.50 in Jharkhand. After the VAT hike, the new rates have come into effect from midnight on Tuesday. Due to this, petrol is being available in Ranchi on Wednesday at Rs 71.24 per litre and diesel at Rs 66.07 per litre. Earlier, the government of Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, Maharashtra, Karnataka, West Bengal and Haryana also increased VAT. The price of petrol and diesel is being sold in the big metros of the country on Wednesday.

There has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel in the national capital of Delhi on Wednesday. Here petrol is being sold at Rs 71.26 per litre and diesel at Rs 69.39 per litre. On Wednesday, petrol is being available in Mumbai at Rs 76.31 per litre and diesel at Rs 66.21 per litre. Talking about Kolkata, petrol is available on Wednesday at Rs 73.30 per litre and diesel at Rs 65.62 per litre. Petrol in Chennai is being sold at Rs 75.54 per litre on Wednesday and diesel at Rs 68.22 per litre.

If we talk about the city of Noida in Uttar Pradesh, then on Wednesday, petrol is being available at Rs 73.90 per litre. Diesel is available here at Rs 63.82 per litre. Talking about Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday, petrol is being available at Rs 73.94 per litre and diesel at Rs 63.88 per litre. On Wednesday, petrol in Bihar's capital Patna is being available at Rs 74.25 per litre and diesel at Rs 66.82 per litre.
